The owner of Charlton Jewelers (Sarah Charlton) approached Forman Building Systems and asked our lighting team for assistance in helping to re-invigorate the lighting layout of her retail store. It was clear, following a site visit, that the current lighting installation was technically dated and no longer performing to the client’s expectations.
The Client brief,
· Merchandise needs to be more visual, with good colour rendering, “add real sparkle”.
· Reduce lamp replacement.
· Reduce ambient temperature in store.
· Create a strong, positive customer experience, and a conducive working environment.
· Commercially viable lighting proposition.
Forman’s assessed the client’s requirements and a simple yet practical solution was presented. Our TD LED range of directional recessed down lights (4000k) provided a cost effective yet high performing solution.
The lighting design required special consideration for the shop frontage. Significant levels of daylight impacting the front of the store displays, has the potential to reduce the effectiveness of the internal lighting. In order to compensate for the natural light egress, a higher wattage TD LED down light was introduced in the design.
The inclusion of this specific lighting fixture has provided a stronger level of light intensity in the window display and has maintained a strong contrast and colour render for product.
The scope of work submitted to the customer included providing a lighting design, performance calculations, 3-D rendered images, CAPX-Payback modeling and budget analysis.
